Browns' Little has potential, lacks consistency

In Week Four, viewers saw what makes Browns WR Greg Little so interesting — but maddening — to watch. In Cleveland’s 23-16 loss at Baltimore, Little showed some of the talent that has made him the Browns’ best wideout the past two seasons. He hauled in four passes for 77 yards, including a 43-yarder in the second quarter. However, Little again struggled to catch the ball, with a potential fourth-quarter TD reception that fell through his hands the biggest missed opportunity.

The way we hear it, the Browns are likely to keep giving Little every chance to prove himself. Frankly, there aren’t many other legitimate challengers for his spot, we’re told. His drops, however, are a real concern. He had 12 as a rookie, per STATS LLC., and they have continued to be an issue this season. Browns head coach Pat Shurmur said the club continues to work with Little to improve his hands.

"I’ve seen it before where young players work through this and become legitimate catchers in this league,” Shurmur told reporters Friday, citing the Rams’ Brandon Gibson, whom he worked with as St. Louis’ offensive coordinator, as an example.
