Browns' Josh Gordon issued arrest warrant, but NFL apparently doesn't care
The NFL’s conduct policy is a bit nebulous when it comes to what is subject to discipline, but the safe bet typically is to assume everything is these days. Especially with repeat offenders.
Which makes it all the more curious when it comes to the story of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon, currently serving a four-game suspension for other indiscretions, being served an arrest warrant for failing to respond to multiple subpoenas in a paternity case over several months.

A judge in Ohio served the arrest warrant on Aug. 31 after several subpoenas served to multiple known addresses for Gordon went unanswered. The Browns, agent Drew Rosenhaus (who represents Gordon) and Adidas, one of Gordon’s sponsors, also were served copies of the subpoenas.
“We are aware of the situation,” a Browns spokesman said, via Cleveland.com. “Josh and his attorney are working with the Cuyahoga County Courts to resolve this matter. We have no further comment at this time.”

But most interestingly, the NFL apparently is set to reinstate Gordon at the earliest possible date, which would be Week 5 against the New England Patriots. According to ohio.com, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy indicated that “this [case] will not affect his status [with the league].”
That’s good news for Gordon, who has been suspended multiple times for substance abuse issues, and for the Browns, who need his services badly, even if Gordon has to work out the arrest warrant with the courts before he’s out of the woods. But the NFL? He’s on the up and up with the league, apparently.
