Peyton Manning had a great day behind center, leading the way to a sound victory for the Broncos over the Patriots, 26-16 at home. With the victory, Denver advances to Super Bowl XLVIII.
An outstanding game for Manning was topped off with 32 completions out of 43 attempts for 400 yards passing, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Tom Brady gave his best effort to keep the Patriots competitive, going 24 of 38 with 277 yards passing, two touchdowns (1 pass, 1 rush) and no interceptions.
Knowshon Moreno rushed for 59 yards on 14 attempts in addition to two receptions for 22 yards. Demaryius Thomas was a weapon for the offense, catching seven balls for 134 yards with a touchdown.
The Denver defensive unit led the way to a victory, allowing 64 yards rushing and 277 passing. They brought down Brady for two sacks.
Lastly, Matt Prater was perfect, hitting all four of the field goals he attempted.
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman provided some spark with 89 receiving yards and one touchdown. Running back Shane Vereen also had a noteworthy performance with 59 receiving yards and 34 rushing.
