Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey did not practice Monday as he recovers from a sprained foot, and his playing status for Thursday's season-opening game against the Baltimore Ravens will not be determined until game day, USA Today reported.
The Broncos are already without linebacker Von Miller, and being without Bailey would be a significant blow.
Bailey, a 12-time Pro Bowl selection, is no longer using crutches and is out of the walking boot, but he is still experiencing pain at the base of his foot.
"It's my feet, so I have to make sure I'm making a smart decision," Bailey told USA Today. "There is a fine line there. You don't want to risk it getting worse, but I definitely don't want to miss any games, either."
If Bailey cannot play, Chris Harris and Tony Carter will get additional playing time.
