Brewers activate RHP Gallardo

The SportsXchange

The Milwaukee Brewers activated right-hander Yovani Gallardo from the 15-day disabled list and he will start Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Gallardo has been out since leaving his July 30 start with tightness in his left hamstring.

Gallardo is 8-9 with a 4.91 ERA and 1.48 WHIP in 21 starts this year.

The Brewers cleared roster space for Gallardo after Friday's win over the Reds by optioning right-hander Donovan Hand to Class AAA Nashville. Hand is 0-4 with a 3.83 ERA in 56 1/3 innings this season.
