Braves minor-league pitcher suspended for 50 games

The SportsXchange

Billy Bullock, a right-handed pitcher in the Atlanta Braves' minor-league system, received a 50-game suspension without pay after a second violation of the drug prevention and treatment program for a "drug of abuse," the commissioner's office announced Friday.

Bullock, who is on the triple-A Gwinnett roster, will begin serving his suspension at the start of next season.

A second-round pick in 2009 by Minnesota, the hard-throwing Bullock was traded from the Twins to the Braves in 2011.
