Monroe went 7-10 from the field, in an efficient offensive performance. Other key performers for Detroit were Brandon Jennings with 21 points and 6 assists, Andre Drummond with 14 points and 9 rebounds, and Josh Smith with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Despite the loss, Marco Belinelli put up 20 points off the bench for San Antonio on 8-15 shooting, including 4-8 from behind the arc. Cory Joseph contributed 11 points and 9 assists.
San Antonio (37-15) could not get back-to-back victories after defeating Charlotte on Saturday.
