Bob Bradley named coach of Norwegian side Stabaek

The Egypt FA has appointed Shawky Gharib as coach of the Pharaohs following the departure of American Bob Bradley.

Bradley failed to qualify the seven-time African champions for the 2014 World Cup after a 7-3 aggregate loss to Ghana in a two-legged playoff and had to cut ties with the north African country.

Gharib was the assistant to local hero Hassan Shehata, who led the Pharaohs to win three straight Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2006, 2008 and 2010.

His contract will run until the end of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, the EFA confirmed. Besides the senior national team, the former midfielder has managed the Under-21, Smouha and Ismaily.

Bradley coached the U.S. national team 2006 to 2011 when he was replaced by Jurgen Klinsmann.
