Brad Pickett Draws New Opponent for UFC London Retirement Bout

Brad Pickett has landed a new opponent for his retirement bout at next week's UFC Fight Night London.

UFC officials on Saturday announced that Marlon Vera has stepping in to replace Henry Briones, keeping Pickett on the fight card slated for March 18 in London.

Pickett and Vera will meet on the main card of UFC Fight Night 107 in a bout which will mark the end of Pickett's professional fighting career.

Having begun his professional career in 2004, Pickett has amassed a 25-13 record entering next week's bout. He spent the better part of the past eight years fighting for the UFC and WEC. Having traveled a bit of a rocky road over the past couple years, Pickett has decided, at 38 years of age, that it's time to hang up the gloves.

Vera (8-3-1) will take on the Londoner coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Ning Guangyou in November.

The London fight card is headlined by a light heavyweight bout pitting No. 4 ranked Jimi Manuwa against No. 7 ranked Corey Anderson.
