Terrence Boyd may have fallen down the U.S. national team depth chart in recent months, but he's making quite a case to get back in Jurgen Klinsmann's good graces.
The 22-year-old striker notched his fourth goal in five games Saturday, scoring in the 55th minute of Rapid Vienna's 4-0 win over 10-man Wacker Innsbruck.
Boyd was a part of the U.S. squad that played three World Cup qualifiers in June but was not selected for recent qualifiers against Costa Rica and Mexico, falling behind the likes of Eddie Johnson and newcomer Aron Johannsson. The German-born player, who is coming off a 13-goal campaign, has accumulated nine caps for the USA since debuting last year.
Rapid Vienna (3-2-3) returns to the field Thursday for a Europa League match against Swiss club Thun.
