The Boston University Terriers didn't need overtime in completing a season sweep of the Navy Midshipmen on Wednesday.

After playing back-to-back overtime games, the Terriers took advantage of another poor-shooting performance by the Midshipmen to register a 61-48 victory at Alumni Hall in Annapolis, Md.

Sophomore guard Maurice Watson Jr. led BU with nine points, eight assists and four rebounds. The Terriers led by as many as 14 before cruising to their third victory in their last four games.

The Midshipmen entered the contest as the fifth-lowest scoring team (60.6) in Division I men's basketball and they once again had trouble putting the ball in the basket. Navy shot 29 percent (17 of 58) from the field, including 7 of 27 from 3-point range.

When Navy scored 28 second-half points, it marked the first time this season the Midshipmen scored more than 20 points in a half against the Terriers. BU won the first meeting at home, 55-32.

The Midshipmen (7-15, 2-9) were led by freshman guard Zach Fong, who finished with 15 points before fouling out as Navy dropped its sixth in a row.

The first half wasn't an offensive showcase for either team. BU shot 35 percent from the field before the break, while Navy shot 30 percent. Each team only made nine field goals. The difference, though, was from beyond the arc. BU converted 5 of 12 from 3-point range in the opening half, while Navy only made 2 of 14.

With the victory, BU (16-8, 9-2) remained on the heels of first-place American University in the Patriot League. American (14-7, 10-0) entered Wednesday night's action as the only team without a conference loss in the league.
