The Boise State Broncos plan to wear these helmets, which might be made of a delicate Idahoan style of pottery, in a football game. That game is against an SEC team, and those teams are usually pretty rough -- too rough for helmets that collapse when so much as raised into the sky, in my opinion.
The game will be played in the Georgia Dome, where there's no weather, but that's no excuse for wearing helmets that break apart when subjected to even the slightest stress. A little rain might've actually helped these helmets hold together, via erosion.
Call me old-fashioned, but I believe football helmets should remain in one piece. In today's world, college football teams should not wear helmets that fly into a thousand pieces at the drop of a hat -- or at the lifting of a hat, as it were.
