Bobcats' Williams has concussion

The SportsXchange

Charlotte Bobcats forward Reggie Williams has a concussion, and is unlikely to play on Monday night, when the Bobcats (7-52, fifth in Southeast Division) host the New Orleans Hornets (18-42, fifth in Southwest Division).

The injury was reported on Twitter by Charlotte Observer beat writer Rick Bonnell (@rick_bonnell). The injury occurred on Sunday night during the second half of Charlotte's 94-82 loss to the Boston Celtics. It was the 16th consecutive loss for the Bobcats.

Williams, 25, is averaging a career-low 8.5 points per game on career-worst .415 shooting. The Bobcats are already shorthanded due to the loss of Corey Maggette, who has been shut down for the season due to an injured Achilles tendon.

The Bobcats host Charlotte's previous NBA team, the Hornets, on Monday night at Time Warner Cable Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m. ET.
