The Charlotte Bobcats announced Thursday that center Brendan Haywood will miss the remainder of the season after being diagnosed with a stress reaction in his left foot.
Haywood, 33, has missed three of the team's past four games due to a sore left ankle. An MRI and CT scan on Wednesday confirmed the stress reaction.
The 7-foot Haywood was averaging 3.5 points per game and 4.8 rebounds in 61 games for the Bobcats this season.
The Charlotte Observer said his recovery time will be about two months. Haywood is under contract for two more years.
