Bobby Hart, Andrew Adams lead Giants in Performance Based Pay Distributions
Safety Andrew Adams and offensive tackle Bobby Hart each started 13 games for the New York Giants in 2016. They will reap an additional financial benefit for their efforts.
Adams and Hart earned the Giants’ biggest Performance Based Pay Distributions for the 2016 season.
The NFL allocates a pool of money to be evenly distributed among its 32 franchises. Players are compensated based on their playing time and compensation during the season. In 2016, the Performance Based Pay Distribution was $3,995,000 per team. There is an additional $1 million for the Veteran Performance Based Pay distribution as well.

The Performance Based Bay Distribution is designed to reward younger players with smaller salaries that play a bigger role than their contract would suggest.
Hart was a seventh-round draft pick out of Florida State in 2015. His adjusted compensation for the 2016 season was $548,942. He stepped in for the injured Marshall Newhouse at right tackle and his playing time was just over 60 percent. Hart will receive a performance based bonus of $285,228.92 as well as $75,784.04 in Veteran Performance Based Pay Distribution.
Hart’s total performance-based pay distribution is $361,072.96.
Adams, an undrafted free agent out of the University of Connecticut in 2016, will receive $316,310.42 in performance-based pay distribution. He stepped in after Darian Thompson suffered a foot injury and missed most of 2016.
Hart and Adams earned the Giants’ largest Performance Based Pay Distributions followed by: tight end Will Tye ($229,405.30), defensive end Romeo Okwara ($201,864.02), linebacker Devon Kennard ($185,440.33), running back Paul Perkins ($160,945.52), wide receiver Sterling Shepard ($159,638.21), wide receiver Roger Lewis ($149,494.54), linebacker Kelvin Sheppard ($146,469.76), and safety Landon Collins ($142,918.58).
Hart earned the Giants’ highest Veteran Performance Based Pay Distribution followed by center Weston Richburg ($61,102.42), tight end Will Tye ($60,001.09), safety Landon Collins ($58,753.28), linebacker Devon Kennard ($56,618.88), defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins ($52,511.78), guard John Jerry ($49,912.17), linebacker Kelvin Sheppard ($45,845.27), cornerback Trevin Wade ($41,146.94), and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. ($30,528.17).
Linebacker J.T. Thomas earned the smallest payout of any player who played for the Giants last season. His payout was $1,080.75 after suffering a season-ending injury in the opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
