Blue Jays sign LaRoche to minor-league deal

Corner infielder Andy LaRoche has signed a minor-league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays that includes an invitation to spring training.

LaRoche, 29, plays both first base and third base and has not played in the Major Leagues since 2011, when he hit .247 with no homers in 40 games for the Oakland A's.
