The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed re-signed forward Cody Bass for the 2012-13 season.
Bass, 25, played in 14 NHL games for Columbus in 2011-12, recording one assist and 32 penalty minutes. He also played 23 games for the Blue Jackets' AHL affiliate in Springfield, Massachusetts, scoring five goals and assisting on six more. He suffered a shoulder injury in December that required season-ending surgery.
Originally a fourth-round pick of the Senators (95th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Bass spent four seasons in the Ottawa organization, playing 34 NHL games. He signed a one-year, two-way deal with Columbus last July, and will have a similar deal for next season.
