COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Columbus right wing Jared Boll will be out three to four months after surgery to repair a torn tendon in his ankle.

The club says the 27-year-old, longest-serving Blue Jacket had surgery Monday. He has 1,001 penalty minutes in 409 NHL games.

They Blue Jackets also recalled forward Jack Skille and sent goaltender Jeremy Smith to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass. Skille has two goals in seven games with Columbus and two goals and an assist in six games with Springfield.
