"The Blind Side," the movie based on Michael Lewis' book about offensive tackle Michael Oher, has surpassed the $200 million barrier in box office receipts, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.

That's a tough mark to reach, considering that only five other sports movies have made that much money in their domestic take.

I've factored in inflation for the top movies below:

1. Rocky (1976) $349.2M

2. Rocky III (1982) $278.2M

3. Rocky IV (1985) $256.9M

4. The Waterboy (1998) $214.6M

5. Jerry Maguire (1996) $212.2M

6. The Blind Side (2009) $209M

It's an amazing story considering that Fox passed on the film after buying the option to the script. Alcon Entertainment, an independent production company which is cashing in big now, then picked up the project.

Sandra Bullock, who plays the mother Leigh Ann Touhy in the film, reportedly cut her rate to get a piece of the profits and if that's true, she's in to make a mint.
