Laurent Blanc says he is happy with his Paris Saint-Germain squad and does not believe new signings are necessary during the winter transfer window.
The reigning French champions are top of Ligue 1 and also eased through to the Champions League knockout phase, where they will face Bayer Leverkusen, yet have been linked with Juventus starlet Paul Pogba and Chelsea winger Eden Hazard in recent weeks.
However, Blanc believes his squad already has the requisite quality to compete for European glory as well as domestic honors, though he did admit that he would not be against a new midfielder arriving before the end of January.
"If I finish the season with the group I have I'll be happy," the World Cup winner told reporters on Friday. "If the group remains as it is, [this] is fine...But if we add a midfielder that's even better."
However, the former France defender's priority is to ensure that none of his current stars exit during this window.
Midfielder Blaise Matuidi, whose contract expires in June, has been linked with a move away from Paris, but Blanc is determined to retain the 26-year-old's services.
"I want Blaise Matuidi to continue at Paris Saint-Germain," the PSG coach said.
