Griffin posted 17 points (8-13 FG, 1-1 FT), five boards, and one steal in 28 minutes Tuesday. His reduced production can be attributed to a lingering swollen left calf, the Los Angeles Times reports. Coach Vinny Del Negro said, "Blake is a tough kid. He'll fight through it and give us what he can. I think it's feeling a little bit better. The only thing that's going to get it better is rest. And there's no time for that right now."
Recommendation: The Clippers next play Wednesday against Phoenix, so Griffin will be able to fit in one day of rest. Then a lengthy respite arrives, as he'll be afforded three days off before Sunday's showdown with the Lakers. We'll consider him day-to-day for now, but don't expect Griffin to miss any time with the ailment.
