Blackhawks' Hossa returns from personal leave

The SportsXchange

Marian Hossa is back with the Chicago Blackhawks after missing two games to be with his hospitalized wife.

Hossa rejoined the Blackhawks on Wednesday for their game against the Calgary Flames. He left the team last weekend during a road trip and returned to Chicago after his wife became ill. She has since been released.

"You love hockey so much, but family is the most important thing for me and, I'm sure, everyone here," Hossa told CSNChicago.com. "As soon as something like this happens, you want to be there for them."

In 20 games this season, Hossa has 10 goals and seven assists. The 34-year-old veteran missed three games earlier this month with a lower-body injury.

In a corresponding roster move, the Blackhawks sent 22-year-old forward Jeremy Morin to Rockford of the American Hockey League.
