Blackhawks give Crawford six-year extension

The Chicago Blackhawks announced Monday that they agreed to terms with goaltender Corey Crawford on a six-year contract extension.

Crawford is signed through the 2019-20 season.

Crawford, 28, went 16-7 with one shutout, a league-best 1.84 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage in 23 postseason games in helping the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup last season.

In 30 regular-season games, he was 19-5-5 with three shutouts, a 1.94 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage.

Crawford ranked third in the league in goals-against average, fifth in save percentage, and 11th in wins and shutouts during the regular season.

He is 83-43-19 with eight shutouts, a 2.40 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage in 152 career games with Chicago from 2005-13.

Chicago selected him in the second round of the 2003 draft.
