‘Black Panther’ Officially Adds Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B Jordan & Danai Gurira To Cast – Comic-Con
Marvel’s presentation at Comic-Con’s Hall H kicked off today with director Ryan Coogler and star Chadwick Boseman coming onstage to promote Black Panther, the latest superhero to get the stand-alone treatment in the comic giant’s film universe. Along with them onstage came newly minted co-stars Lupita Nyong’o, who will play Nakia; Coogler’s Creed star Michael B Jordan, who will play the villain Killmonger; and The Walking Dead‘s Danai Gurira as Okoye.
Nyong’o and Jordan had been in talks for roles, but joining the crew onstage today makes their additions official.

Boseman already has warmed up playing T’Challa/Black Panther — king and protector of the fictional African nation of Wakanda — in this summer’s Captain America: Civil War. The Black Panther stand-alone pic has a February 16, 2018, release date.
Marvel made it official in January that Coogler had been set to direct.
