Bishop: Visited Vikings, Chiefs

Free agent linebacker Desmond Bishop told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday that he visited the Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs.

He also said the New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers are also interested in his services.

Bishop was released by the Green Bay Packers earlier this week.

"The Giants and Jacksonville are the next two that are interested," Bishop said. "Actually, the Niners called but of course, you know, they're kind of set over there. I appreciate their interest in me regardless. But the Giants, which is a real good situation, and Jacksonville as well."

If healthy, Bishop is seen as a good fit for the Giants but the team is just $3.3 million under the salary cap and have not yet signed first-round draft pick Justin Pugh or fourth-round pick Ryan Nassib.

Bishop could also be a good mix with the Jaguars on the strong side as Paul Posluszny is already set as middle linebacker.

Bishop said he is 100 percent after missing all of last year because of hamstring surgery.

He will likely have to settle for a one-year deal to show he can be productive again.
