Bills re-sign P Moorman

After ending an 18-game experiment with Shawn Powell, the Buffalo Bills have decided to go back to the veteran leg of Brian Moorman.

Moorman, who spent 12 seasons with the Bills, was released five games into the 2012 season in favor of Powell. Moorman spent the remained of last season with Dallas and was in training camp with Pittsburgh this year. He holds Buffalo franchise records in gross punting average (43.9), punts inside the 20 (243) and total punts (862).

Powell was released on Friday, a day after the Cleveland Browns' Travis Benjamin set a single-game franchise record with 179 return yards against Buffalo.

Powell averaged 38.1 net yards per punt for the final 13 games of 2012, but that averaged dipped to 35.2 yards through five games this season.
