Buffalo Bills defensive end Chris Kelsay hopes to play Sunday against the New England Patriots after finding out his neck injury is not serious, ESPN.com reported.
Kelsay sustained the injury during a practice drill Thursday and did not return.
Bills coach Chan Gailey said Friday Kelsay's playing status could be a game-time decision.
"It's not major, but I don't know if he can get ready for this week," Gailey said. "We have to wait and see how the treatment goes."
Kelsay did not practice Friday. The 10-year veteran has 14 tackles and two sacks this season.
The Bills are thin at defensive end as Mark Anderson, another starter, will miss his fourth game with a left knee injury.
