Bill Clinton Awkwardly Greets Melania Trump

While the handshake between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump was the one everyone was eagerly waiting for at the First Presidential Debate, Bill Clinton and Melania Trump shared the very first, very uncomfortable looking handshake before the debate got started.

Seriously, you could feel the weird tension through the television screen. These are two people who have been shaking hands as part of their professional careers and still managed to make this regular human activity look about as normal as two dogs shaking hands.

The two greeted each other like you might greet your mortal enemy/unrequited crush at your ten year high school reunion. Which is to say, they looked so unbearably uncomfortable. Maybe it’s some inside joke shared between spouses of two presidential candidates - we’ll probably never know! All that can be done is to enjoy the beautiful moment when two hugely successful people did something funny on national live TV.
