LeBron going back to Cavs:

Biggest Winners and Losers from UFC 168

Yahoo Contributor Network

COMMENTARY | The Dec. 28 UFC 168 fight card lived up to expectations, with every single fight on the main card ending via stoppage.

Chris Weidman successfully defended the Ultimate Fighting Championship's middleweight title against Anderson Silva, and a few other fighters also made strong statements with their performances at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Of course, others weren't so fortunate.

Here are the biggest winners and losers from the UFC 168 fight card:

WINNERS:

1. Chris Weidman
Weidman looked awesome at UFC 168, hurting Silva with a hard right from the clinch early in the opening round. He dominated the vast majority of the first round, and he seemed to be on his way to victory.

Unfortunately for Weidman -- and MMA fans -- he was robbed of the opportunity to win decisively when Silva broke his leg in the second round while throwing a low kick.

Here's a replay of the horrific injury.

Still, two wins -- and two decisive rounds won -- against the greatest fighter in MMA history counts for something, so Weidman deserves all the credit in the world.

2. Travis Browne
Browne made quick work out of Josh Barnett at UFC 168, putting "The WarMaster" away 60 seconds into their tilt. That's his second consecutive victory against a top heavyweight contender, inserting "Hapa" into the title conversation.

The performance also earned him the "Knockout of the Night" award and an extra $75,000.

3. Ronda Rousey
Rousey's behavior while working as a coach on the 18th season of "The Ultimate Fighter" cost her a lot of fans, and her refusal to shake hands with Miesha Tate after their entertaining bout didn't make things any better (she actually had a pretty good explanation during the post-fight press conference).

She still was one of the night's biggest winners though.

Rousey displayed her well-rounded skills at UFC 168. She dumped Tate on the canvas multiple times, and she proved she had the cardio to go a few rounds if necessary. "Rowdy" eventually put Miesha away early in the third round, successfully defending the Ultimate Fighting Championship's women's bantamweight title for the second consecutive time.

The win earned Ronda the "Fight of the Night" and "Submission of the Night" awards, and an extra $150,000.

Notable mentions: Dustin Poirier, Jim Miller, Michael Johnson, and Uriah Hall.

LOSERS:

1. Josh Barnett
Expectations were high for Barnett coming into his second fight since his return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but The WarMaster failed to deliver. He never really got much going during his fight against Browne, falling victim to a series of vicious elbows when he went for a double-leg takedown against the cage early in round one.

2. Chris Leben
Leben dropped his fourth consecutive bout at UFC 168, stopped by a brutal flurry that left him unable to continue after the first round of his showdown against Uriah Hall. Clearly, "The Crippler's" best days are behind him, and he'll probably be getting the "retirement talk" from UFC president Dana White.

3. Miesha Tate
As always, Miesha fought with a lot of heart at UFC 168, but, even with the Fight of the Night earning performance, the end result was still a loss. Tate has now lost three of her last four bouts, and she really hasn't looked spectacular inside the cage since her 2011 win against Marloes Coenen.
