It was a big week for the Edmonton and Ottawa power play as they each potted five goals.

Nine players went over the 100 minute mark in time on ice during the power play this week as the NHL passed the quarter mark of the schedule.


Noted stars like Alex Ovechkin, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and John Tavares are on the list as are defensemen Erik Karlsson, P.K. Subban, Brian Campbell, Drew Doughty and Andrei Markov.

Corey Perry:  3 points in 91:58 minutes of power play time.

Cam Fowler: 8 points in 83:58.

Ryan Getzlaf: 7 points in 85:14.

Nick Bonino: 7 points in 68:32.

Sami Vatanen: 2 points in 62:46.

Teemu Selanne: 2 points in 51:55.

The Ducks were 3-13 with the man-advantage this week and are 13-90 this season. Bonino led the way with a goal and two assists while Getzlaf and Vatanen, who just returned from the minors, each had one goal. Fowler set up two goals with Mathieu Perreault and Matt Beleskey chipping in with one assist each.


Jarome Iginla: 2 points in 57:22 minutes of power play time.

David Krejci: 5 points in 57:00.

Zdeno Chara: 5 points in 56:40.

Torey Krug: 7 points in 55:10.

Milan Lucic: 4 points in 50:49.

Patrice Bergeron: 1 point in 43:16.

The Bruins were 2-11 this week and are now 11-61 this season. Reilly Smith and Chara scored with Loui Eriksson, Carl Soderberg, Krug and Lucic drawing assists.


Christian Ehrhoff: 1 point in 79:53 minutes of power play time.

Tyler Ennis: 4 points in 76:24.

Cody Hodgson: 8 points in 76:09.

Matt Moulson: 11 points in 67:21.

Tyler Myers: 3 points in 55:32.

Jamie McBain: 2 points in 46:09.

The Sabres power play was 1-9 this week and are now 11-74 this season. Myers scored and was set up by Ennis and Ville Leino.


Dennis Wideman: 2 points in 90:00 minutes of power play time.

Jiri Hudler: 6 points in 85:07.

Kris Russell: 3 points in 68:56.

Sean Monahan: 4 points in 52:54.

Michael Cammalleri: 3 points in 52:49.

Curtis Glencross: 2 points in 47:53.

The Flames were 2-7 for the second week in a row and are 10-71 this season.  Cammalleri and Sven Baertschi scored with Monahan, Lee Stempniak, T.J. Brodie and Joe Colborne assisting.


Eric Staal: 5 points in 90:06 minutes of power play time.

Alexander Semin: 4 points in 75:33.

Ryan Murphy: 3 points in 65:56.

Nathan Gerbe: 5 points in 63:59.

Justin Faulk: 3 points in 60:23.

Jordan Staal: 1 point in 56:04.

The Hurricanes were 2-14 this week and are now 12-90 on the season. Andrej Sekera and Elias Lindholm were the goal scorers. Eric Staal set up both goals with Faulk and Jeff Skinner picking up one each. Faulk and Sekera led the Hurricanes in ice time this week. Semin is out with a concussion.


Patrick Kane: 10 points in 82:09 minutes of power play time.

Patrick Sharp: 7 points in 80:42.

Jonathan Toews: 6 points in 77:22.

Duncan Keith: 5 points in 77:19.

Andrew Shaw: 4 points in 58:53.

Nick Leddy: 4 points in 48:25.

Chicago was 1-7 this week and are 16-78 this season. Kane scored and was set up by Leddy and Toews.


Andre Benoit: 4 points in 58:40 minutes of power play time.

Ryan O'Reilly: 4 points in 57:24.

Erik Johnson: 2 points in 56:27.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: 6 points in 68:25.

The Oilers were 5-9 this week and are 17-79. Perron led the way with two goals and an assist while Nail Yakupov had one goal and a helper. Eberle and Ryan Smyth also scored with Nugent-Hopkins picking up three assists. Hall, Hemsky, Schultz and Sam Gagner also had one assist apiece.

The Canadiens were 3-14 this week and are 21-92 during the 2013-14 season. Galchenyuk, Max Pacioretty and Daniel Briere were the goal scorers with Markov, Subban, Gallagher, Josh Gorges and Brandon Prust drawing the assists. Galchenyuk was 10th in power play time this week in three games.


Shea Weber: 8 points in 72:54 minutes of power play time.

David Legwand: 8 points in 66:56.

Patric Hornqvist: 5 points in 65:15.

Seth Jones: 5 points in 64:06.

Matt Cullen: 3 points in 56:55.

Colin Wilson: 5 points in 56:00.

The Predators were 3-12 this week and are now 16-76 in 2013-14. Weber, Jones and Craig Smith scored with Cullen and Wilson assisting on two goals each. Legwand also had a helper.


Marek Zidlicky: 6 points in 78:34 minutes of power play time.

Jaromir Jagr: 4 points in 74:39.

Michael Ryder: 4 points in 69:27.  

Travis Zajac: 3 points in 58:38.

Adam Henrique: 4 points in 53:01.

Claude Giroux: 8 points in 92:05 minutes of power play time.

Jakub Voracek: 4 points in 78:01.

Mark Streit: 4 points in 77:42.

Kimmo Timonen: 3 points in 75:29.

Wayne Simmonds: 5 points in 75:28.

Brayden Schenn: 5 points in 64:54.

The Flyers were 3-14 on the power play and are now 7-22 in the last two weeks and 13-86 on the season. Giroux was in on all three with two goals and an assist while Vincent Lecavalier also found the back of the net. Voracek picked up two assists with Timonen, Streit and Simmonds garnering one each. The Flyers have scored a power play goal in each of their last six games.

Mike Ribeiro: 6 points in 92:15.

Keith Yandle: 11 points in 82:36.

Shane Doan: 8 points in 63:26.

Radim Vrbata: 7 points in 61:12.

The Coyotes were 1-7 this week and are now 18-83 this season. Antoine Vermette was the goal scorer with Yandle and Doan drawing the assists.

Henrik Sedin: 8 points in 84:00.

Ryan Kesler: 6 points in 81:59.

Jason Garrison: 3 points in 66:51.

Dan Hamhuis: Zero points in 56:20.

The Canucks were 1-9 this week and are now 9-78. Kesler was the only Canuck to score as Daniel Sedin and Garrison set him up.

The Jets were 3-9 this week and are now 11-86. Byfuglien was in on all three, scoring twice and adding an assist. He has four goals and five points on the power play in the last two weeks. Keaton Ellerby also scored with Wheeler and Little picking up two assists each and Ladd adding one helper.
