Bengals waive RB Scott

Running back Bernard Scott was waived from the reserve/physically unable to perform list by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Scott would have been the fifth running back on the roster, behind rookie sixth-round pick Rex Burkhead, Cedric Peerman, BenJarvus Green-Ellis and rookie second-round pick Giovani Bernard, who scored two touchdowns Monday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

An experienced kick returner and third-down back, Scott was recovering from a torn ACL. He was ineligible to be activated until Week 7 from the PUP list.

Scott, a sixth-round pick, played in 47 games in four seasons with the Bengals.
