Bengals release six, still must cut six more

The Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday released six players and still have to release six more players by 4 p.m. Tuesday to get to the required 75-player limit.

The Bengals terminated the contract of Richard Quinn, making the fifth-year tight end a free agent.

The five other players waived were first-year defensive tackle Vaughn Meatoga, as well as four undrafted rookies, wide receiver Jheranie Boyd of North Carolina, cornerback Terrence Brown of Stanford, linebacker Jordan Campbell of New Mexico Highlands and kicker-punter Quinn Sharp of Oklahoma State.

Sharp had a solid preseason, making a 28-yard field goal Saturday night against the Cowboys to go with a 47-yarder he made in Atlanta earlier in the preseason. He didn't kick off Saturday, but had six touchbacks in the previous two games.
