    Bengals OT Smith faces gun charge

    Cincinnati Bengals right tackle Andre Smith was arrested Thursday at the Atlanta airport on a gun charge.

    Smith allegedly attempted to board a plane with a .38-caliber handgun, according to several reports, He appeared in court Friday morning and was released on a $3,000 bond.

    A preliminary hearting was set for Feb 4, NFL.com reported.

    Smith, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, has come on for the Bengals the past two seasons after getting off to a slow start due in part to injury issues.

    Smith enters the offseason as a free agent.
