Bengals to bring in a future Hall of Fame player?
Earlier this week the Cincinnati Bengals brought in future Hall of Fame defensive end Dwight Freeney.

Freeney had eight sacks last season at the age of 35 in a limited role with the Arizona Cardinals. So he still has something left in the tank. Yes, the 36 year old is past his prime and this is not the spin move monster you watched for almost a decade in Indianapolis with the Colts, but the fact is that Freeney is still in great shape and can help a team win in 2016.
The Bengals have Carlos Dunlap and Geno Atkins who are great at getting after the quarterback, but adding Freeney could make the Bengals have one of the best pass rushing attacks in the AFC. Something you desperately need in the playoffs.

And with the Bengals still struggling to figure out just how to get a single playoff win the Freeney signing makes sense. At least it does on paper.
ESPN has Freeney ranked as the fourth best free agent left on the market. Here is what they had to say about the future Hall of Fame player.

Last season, the Arizona Cardinals called him on the week he was considering putting in his retirement papers. Freeney responded with eight sacks in 11 regular-season games. He might have more value as a pass-rusher in a 4-3 scheme than being an outside linebacker in a 3-4. Regardless, he still has something left in the tank, and he still wants to play.
Yes the Bengals run a 4-3 base defense, and it still seems that Freeney could contribute right away for them. But the question is now whether or not he would want to play for them. He has stressed that he wants to play for a winning team.
Well, the Bengals have made the playoffs for five straight seasons, but that has still resulted in zero playoff wins. Could that deter him from signing in Cinci? Time will tell, but he would be a great addition to an already loaded defensive roster.
