Bellator Confirms Hit-and-Run Incident that Cost Jordan Parsons His Leg

Bellator on Sunday confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons was the victim of a hit-and-run incident on Sunday in Delray Beach, Fla. The incident was first reported by MMAFighting.com.

“Bellator has been informed of a terrible accident that occurred last night involving featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons, who was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident,” read Bellator's statement to MMAWeekly.com. “We are still in the process of uncovering details and with his family’s consent, hope to have an update on his medical condition soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan and his family as he recovers.”

Aside from confirming the incident, Bellator also asked for help in gathering information for the Delray Beach Police, who are investigating.

“The hit-and-run occurred on Lindell Blvd. and South Federal Highway in Delray Beach, Florida. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Delray Beach Police Department at (561) 243-7800.”

According to MMAFighting's Dave Doyle, Parsons was at the Delray Medical Center on Sunday afternoon in critical condition after having the “bottom half of his right leg amputated.”

The incident is likely to end Parsons' very promising career. He currently sports a record of 11-2. Parsons fought his last three bouts under the Bellator banner, but was also a Driller Promotions and CFA champion prior to that.
