Bellator 84 Bounces Back from Season Low TV Ratings to Nearly Hitting the High Mark

Bellator’s final Season 7 event bounced back from last week’s abysmal season low to the second best TV ratings of the past 11 episodes.

Bellator 84 drew an average audience of 191,000 viewers, according to MMAWeekly.com’s industry sources.

That was enough for second best this season, losing out only to Bellator 79, which featured Richard Hale and Shahbulat Shamhalaev punching their respective ways into the heavyweight and featherweight tournament finals.

Bellator 84 saw Hale lose his attempt to capture the vacant heavyweight strap to Alexander Volkov, while Shamhalaev has had his featherweight final pushed back to some time in 2013 due to a cancellation and scheduling issues.

Bellator averaged 162,000 viewers per episode during Season 7’s run on MTV2.

The promotion is now making a big promotional push as it prepares for a January 2013 debut on Spike TV, the former home of the UFC and the new home of Bellator MMA.
