Belichick: No decision yet on Tebow

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is notoriously tight-lipped, so it came as no surprise Tuesday when he refused to say whether quarterback Tim Tebow would make the team's roster.

"That's not anything we're ready to talk about right now," Belichick said. "There's a lot of competition out there. We'll see how it all plays out."

In New England's first preseason game, Tebow completed four of 12 passes for 55 yards Friday during a 31-22 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He also ran four times for 31 yards.

Tebow told USA Today that he's working hard in his bid to survive the cut.

"I'm trying to improve every day, trying to grow," Tebow told the newspaper. "You've got great coaches around you, great players around you and that's the goal is to get better. Being able to watch a great one (Tom Brady) every day, be around him. He's not only a great quarterback, he's a great guy, too. He's fun to be around as well."

Belichick acknowledged that Tebow has shown improvement since the beginning of camp.

"I'd say every player that's been out there has improved, that includes everybody," Belichick said. "That's what training camp is for. If we're out there every day and we're not improving, then that's really not good. I would say that about every player that's had a chance to get out there and participate on a regular basis, that they've all improved a great deal."
