David Beckham hasn't played in England's Premier League since 2003, but the Beckham name might not vanish from the English soccer scene.

Beckham's oldest son, Brooklyn, had a tryout for the Chelsea academy in London on Tuesday, according to multiple media reports. Brooklyn Beckham, 13, played in an under-14 game, and numerous London reported that his 37-year-old father was in attendance.

David Beckham helped the Los Angeles Galaxy win the MLS Cup each of the past two seasons, but he announced after the 2012 campaign that he wouldn't return to the club. He is currently a free agent.

The elder Beckham played from 1993-2003 with Manchester United before moving on to Real Madrid and then the Galaxy.

He was the captain of the English national soccer team from 2000-06 during an international career that included 115 games.
