Bears sign Austen Lane

The Chicago Bears have signed former Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Austen Lane, according to agent Scott Smith.

He last played for the Lions, playing in two games last season.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder recorded 32 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble in 2012 in seven starts for the Jaguars.

Lane has a previous stint with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Lane is a former Murray State standout and Jaguars fifth-round draft pick who recorded 29 career sacks and 55 tackles for losses.
