Fullback Evan Rodriguez was placed on waivers by the Chicago Bears, who signed veteran lead blocker Tony Fiammetta and brought back wide receiver Devin Aromashodu in a flurry of roster moves.
Rodriguez, who was considered an H-back capable of playing fullback or tight end, was a fourth-round pick in 2012 but had two alcohol-related arrests in the offseason.
Fiammetta was a fourth-round pick in 2009, playing for the Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots with 17 starts in 34 career games.
In addition to Fiammetta and Aromashodu, wide receiver Jerrell Jackson was signed by the Bears, who waived wide receivers Demetrius Fields, Dale Moss and Rodriguez.
Aromashodu is in his second tour of duty with the Bears. He has 78 receptions for 1,193 yards and five touchdowns in 61 games (11 starts) over five seasons with Indianapolis (2007), Chicago (2009-10) and Minnesota (2011-12) and entered the NFL with the Miami Dolphins in 2006. Aromashodu had 34 receptions for 447 yards and four touchdowns in 24 career games with the Bears.
