Bears put Knox on PUP list, cut 9 others

The Chicago Bears have placed wide receiver Johnny Knox on the physically-unable-to-perform list, the team announced Sunday.

The move means Knox, who is recovering from spinal fusion surgery, will be unable to play until the seventh week of the season.

In the other moves, the team put rookie safety Brandon Hardin on the injured reserve list because of a neck injury.

Also, the Bears cut linebacker K.C. Asiodu, quarterback Matt Blanchard, safety Trevor Coston, wide receivers Terriun Crump and Chris Summers and defensive ends Derek Walker and Thaddeus Gibson. They placed linebacker Adrien Cole and offensive guard Nick Pieschel on the waived/injured list.

All NFL teams must be down to 76 players by Monday with the Bears facing one player to cut.
