Gould, who has made 21-of-25 field goals this season, injured his calf prior to Sunday’s game against the Vikings. He has not missed a game since 2005. His replacement, Mare, played in all 16 games for the Panthers last season, making 22-of-28 field-goal attempts. The 39-year-old has converted 81.2 percent of field goals in his career.
McManis and Steltz were key special-teams contributors for the Bears, each totaling four special-teams tackles this season. Steltz has a forced fumble, and McManis has a fumble recovery and a blocked punt.
The Bears also waived OL Andre Gurode.
