Bears Overcome by Vikings, 23-20, in Overtime

The Chicago defense had no answer for Josh McCown, but it would prove not enough to avoid a late defeat for the Bears against the Vikings, 23-20, at Mall of America Field at HHH Metrodome.

McCown put together a solid 23 for 36 effort with 355 yards passing, two touchdowns and no interceptions. For the Vikings, Matt Cassel wound up 20 for 33 with 243 yards passing, one touchdown and one pick.

Matt Forte was a standout player for the Bears, rushing for 120 yards on 23 attempts in addition to two receptions for 31 yards. Alshon Jeffery was a highlight, catching 12 balls for 249 yards while adding two touchdowns.

The Chicago defense surrendered 246 yards rushing and 283 passing. They roughed up Cassel with five sacks.

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was impressive, churning out 211 yards rushing. Wide receiver Greg Jennings was also solid with 78 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The Bears will play host to the Cowboys (7-5) next week while the Vikings head to Baltimore to face off with the Ravens (6-6).
