Bears DT tackle Melton arrested

Chicago Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton was arrested Saturday night for assault and public intoxication at a bar in Grapevine, Texas, ESPN.com reported.

The incident occurred during an altercation with a bartender at Chill Sports Bar & Grill.

Melton was released at 9:21 a.m. Sunday morning after posting bond.

The 2012 Pro Bowler is on injured reserve with a torn ACL. He last played Sept. 22 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Bears gave Melton an $8.45 million franchise tag in the offseason and is expected to be a free agent after this season.

Melton had 66 tackles (nine for lost yardage), 15.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery last year.

He had five tackles, two quarterback pressures and a fumble recovery in three games this year.

The Bears did not immediately comment on Melton's arrest.
