Bears DT Collins suspended

Bears defensive tackle Nate Collins has been suspended for the first game of the regular season and docked an additonal game check for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

He was arrested for marijuana possession in February, according to The Sports Xchange's Howard Balzer.

An undrafted free agent in 2010, Collins originally signed with the Giants and had also played in 13 games with the Jaguars over the past two seasons before signing with the Bears in May.
