Norfolk State rallied to take the lead after trailing by 10 midway through the second half, but junior forward Majok Majok dunked with one second remaining to give Ball State a 62-61 victory Wednesday at John E. Worthen Arena. The Spartans trailed 25-11 in the first half and 47-35 with 11:30 remaining in the second half before junior guard Malcolm Hawkins sparked their comeback. Hawkins had eight points and one assist in a span of 2:22, fueling a 12-0 run that tied the game at 47-47 with 8:12 to play. Senior forward Rob Johnson made two free throws with five seconds remaining to give the Spartans a 61-60 lead, but Majok dunked off a feed from junior guard Jesse Berry before time expired. Berry scored a game-high 21 points and senior guard Jauwan Scaife had 18 points for the Cardinals (6-6). Johnson had 16 points and seven rebounds, leading four players who scored in double figures for the Spartans (6-10). Hawkins finished with 15 points. Junior guard Pendarvis Williams had 14 points and junior swingman Kievyn Lila-St. Rose came off the bench to score 11.
