Update: The Rays activated Upton (back) from the 15-day disabled list Friday, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Recommendation: Upton is ready for his debut after missing the last couple weeks of spring training and the first couple weeks of the regular season. He hit just .143 (3-for-21) on a seven-game minor league rehab assignment, so it may take him a few games to get used to big league pitching again. Still, expect him to resume his role as the Rays' regular center fielder moving forward.
