Outfielders
Dropping off: Chris Parmelee (89th), Matt Joyce (93rd), Michael Saunders (101st), Delmon Young (115th), Craig Gentry (116th), Allen Craig (119th), Sam Fuld (120th), Darrell Ceciliani (121st), Dayan Viciedo (123rd), Justin Maxwell (124th), Ezequiel Carrera (125th), Peter Bourjos (127th), Dalton Pompey (130th)
o I don’t like Cespedes quite as much in New York as in Detroit, but his exit made both Gose and Rajai better bets in mixed leagues. Those two join the top 60 this month. I was all set to keep Conforto out of the top 130, but now it looks like the Mets will go with a lot of him in left, Cespedes in center and Granderson in right for the next couple of weeks.
o Is it still Puig’s fault that Dodgers outfielders had just six homers last month if he hit four of them? The average hasn’t been there and it’s disappointing that he still finds himself in the bottom half of the order, but I couldn’t see lowering him overly much in the rankings. Pederson is the one I’m more worried about, particularly after manager Don Mattingly dropped him to the eighth spot. Still, the power could come back at any time.
o Maybe I was too hard on Rusney after his ugly first stint in the majors this season; he already looks much better this time around. He’ll probably play regularly over Bradley once Betts returns from a concussion.
o While it won’t happen with the Red Sox, Nava sticks in the top 130 and moves up a few spots this month in the hope that someone picks him up off waivers and gives him a chance.
