Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on the Atlanta Falcons' key players during the 2012 fantasy football season. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else. All statistics and point totals are based on Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Football standard scoring system.
Matt Ryan, QB
Ryan finished the week earning 22.40 fantasy points against the San Diego Chargers. This week he faces a Carolina Panthers' defense that has allowed an average of 16.00 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Ryan has thrown a total of eight touchdowns in the last three games and is utilizing all the offensive tools available to him. He has a good matchup this week against Carolina so expect at least 20.00 fantasy points in production.
Michael Turner, RB
Turner finished the week earning 14.10 fantasy points against San Diego. This week he faces a Carolina defense that has given up an average of 27.40 fantasy points per game to running backs this season. Turner has been solid for the last two weeks and has a very favorable matchup against a team that gave up over 100 yards and two touchdowns to a New York Giants' backup running back in Andre Brown. Look for Turner to score at least 12.00 fantasy points this week.
Julio Jones, WR
Jones finished the week earning 12.70 fantasy points against the Chargers. This week he faces a Panthers' defense that has allowed an average of just 10.60 fantasy points to wide receivers this season. With the exception of Week 2 against the Denver Broncos, Jones has been a valuable fantasy receiver. Look for him to have another strong week earning 11.00 fantasy points despite the tough matchup.
Roddy White, WR
White finished the week earning just 5.50 fantasy points against the Chargers. This week he shares the tough matchup against Carolina. His success will depend primarily on how many targets he receives from Ryan who has been spreading out the ball. Look for around 9.00 fantasy points this week provided he finds the end zone.
Tony Gonzalez, TE
Gonzalez finished the week earning 15.10 fantasy points. This week he faces a Carolina defense that has allowed an average of 8.20 fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. Gonzalez has been a very solid fantasy tight end and looks to continue that trend moving forward. Look for at least 9.00 fantasy points this week against the Panthers.
Atlanta finished the week earning 16.00 fantasy points against the Chargers. This week they face a Carolina squad that has allowed an average of 7.50 fantasy points to team defense this season. Atlanta should continue their strong trend this week against Carolina earning at least 12.00 fantasy points this week.
