Antone Smith established the ground game, but it wasn't enough to avoid a rough loss for the Falcons at the hands of the Buccaneers, 41-28, at Raymond James Stadium.
Matt Ryan found pay dirt two times on 19 of 36 passing for 254 yards and two picks. Mike Glennon finished 20 for 23 with 231 yards passing, two touchdowns and no interceptions for the Buccaneers.
Smith was a key factor for the Falcons, rushing for 88 yards on two carries with a score. In the fourth quarter, he broke free for a 50-yard score. Harry Douglas was a top performer, snagging six balls for 134 yards with a score.
The Atlanta defense gave up 186 yards rushing and 231 passing. They sacked Glennon two times.
Buccaneers running back Bobby Rainey was impressive, racking up 163 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Vincent Jackson was also solid with 165 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Falcons are at home to take on the Saints (8-2) next week while the Buccaneers travel to Detroit to meet the Lions (6-4).
